A long string of pearl necklaces is wrapped around the neck, gently shaking with the dance of the toes; the simple black and white matching makes the slender "Ballet Beauty God" even more noble... Last night and tonight, Svetlana Zakharova, the world's top ballet dancer nicknamed "Z Baby" by the Chinese audience, joined hands with the chief dancer of the Moscow Grand Theater to take the stage at the Shanghai Grand Theater to bring the double one-act dance "The Legend of Chanel". This dance production combines music, dance and fashion with superb skills and silky smoothness into the performance, presenting the natural and smooth flow of "like breathing", bringing the elegance and romance that belong to "Chanel".
This weekend, Zakharova will also perform "Pointe Strings" with violinist Vatin Repin. This "Shanghai limited" is the only tour of this round and the first time the art couple will share the stage in mainland China.
Born in 1979, Svetlana Zakharova is known as "the gift of ballet". She joined the Mariinsky Theatre Ballet at the age of 17, known as the "Ballet Aircraft Carrier". Between the ages of 20 and 21, she won the Golden Mask Award, the highest honor in Russian theatre, for "Serenade" and "Sleeping Beauty". Since 2003, she has been a principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet, and has since been awarded the title of Meritorious Artist and People's Artist of Russia.
The relationship between Zakharova and the Shanghai Grand Theater began in 2014. At the "Mona Lisa Kiss" world ballet star dance night at the Shanghai Grand Theater, Zakharova brought her tailor-made solo "Unreachable Love". Four years ago, the Grand Theater made an appointment with Zakharova and the violinist Repin and his wife "Pointe Strings", which interweaves the elegance of Zakharova's dance and the delicacy of Repin's violin performance, leading the audience to start a spiritual journey in the audio-visual feast.
"I've been to Shanghai several times. It's a beautiful city with modern architecture and delicious food. The Shanghai Grand Theatre is spectacular, and the enthusiasm of the audience is still fresh in my memory." Although Shanghai is always changing, Zakharova still feels familiar when she returns here. She said: "It's as if I've never left, and the memories are vivid in my mind."
