People's Artist of Russia, winner of the National Award, principal ballet dancer of the Bolshoi Theater in Russia, the first and only grand ballerina from Russia at the La Scala Opera House in Milan, Italy... Svetlana Zakharova is recognized as one of the greatest ballet dancers of the 21st century. She is talented and constantly seeks new inspiration for artistic performance; her performances are highly praised, winning global respect and admiration, and winning a large number of loyal audiences; her exquisite dance skills and elegant and noble dance and temperament have become a well-deserved "beauty god" in the hearts of ballet lovers. When legendary dancers in the ballet field interpret the soul of the fashion field, and Chanel's costumes are paired with ballet shoes, the combination of fashion and ballet will produce wonderful magic.
The double one-act dance drama "The Legend of Chanel" was originally called "MODANSE", which contains the French words "MODE" (fashion) and "DANSE" (dance). It consists of two highly fashionable one-act dance plays "Like Breathing" and "The Legend of Chanel". Among them, "The Legend of Chanel" is a dance work that blends ballet, music and fashion. Composer Ilya Demutsky, choreographer Yuri Posokhov, director and screenwriter Alexei Flandetti jointly tell the life and career of global fashion legend Coco Chanel. The play is based on Chanel's own true story and incorporates Svetlana Zakharova's unique personal artistic insights. Svetlana Zakharova admits: "I broke free from my shackles and was free to create my own Chanel - the Chanel that maybe only a few people know, the Chanel deep in her heart. She was small, fragile, but at the same time strong, purposeful, passionate, loving, lonely. With her talent and hard work, she declared her right to the world, to usher in a new era of modern fashion."
The one-act ballet "Like a Breath," by the Italian choreographer Mauro Bigunzetti, premiered in 2009. In 2017, an adaptation of the ballet premiered at La Scala in Milan, Italy, with Svetlana Zacharova and Roberto Bole. The new one-act ballet incorporates Handel's piano suite, Elena de Medeiros's stylish and energetic costumes, and Mauro Bigunzetti's modern choreography that brings baroque aesthetics to life.
