From June 15th to 16th, the large-scale original Shanghai-style ballet "In the Mood for Love", co-created by top Chinese and French artists and performed by the Shanghai Ballet, will be performed twice at the Minnan Grand Theater, leading the audience to the bustling and romantic old Shanghai.
The large-scale original ballet "In the Mood for Love" is a large-scale modern ballet created by the Shanghai Ballet on the basis of introducing and absorbing foreign experience. It tells the story of a pair of lovers who fell in love but could not come together in the 1930s. The play premiered in 2006 and has toured in Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Fuzhou, Ningbo and other places, and has visited Paris, France, which has been widely praised by audiences.

Unlike classical ballet, "In the Mood for Love" incorporates various dance elements such as ballet, jazz and folk dance, including colorful and energetic group dances, as well as delicate and implicit duet dances. In addition, the play also uses Shanghai's iconic building Shikumen as the setting, revealing the strong cultural characteristics of old Shanghai. Classic songs of old Shanghai that many audiences are familiar with, such as "Night Shanghai" and "Four Seasons Song", are also subtly integrated into the music. The perfect combination of cheongsam and ballet can be regarded as the biggest highlight of the work. In the swaying dance, the atmosphere of Shanghai's city culture and mixed oceans is set off very lively and lively.

It is reported that in addition to "In the Mood for Love", the next Minnan Grand Theater will also have a series of wonderful performances, such as the popular actor Zheng Yunlong starring in the musical "Will Enter Wine", the famous actor Li Jiahang and Li Sheng starring in the drama "What Do You Usually Do", the British Royal Dance Company "Cinderella on Ice" and "Peter Pan on Ice", Lai Shengchuan, Wang Weizhong's peak work "Treasure Island Village", the original French musical "Notre Dame de Paris" and so on.
