Beijing, May 7 (Reporter, Ying Ni) The 14th Ballet Creative Workshop of the Central Ballet with the theme of "Riding the Wind" was staged in Beijing from May 5 to 7. Young dancers showed their vigorous creativity and artistic expression on stage.
This creative workshop showcased 11 wonderful works by 13 creators. Among them, the works that integrate national feelings into ballet creation are refreshing.
"Song of the Wilderness", created by this year's general director Workshop Li Yang, originated from his artistic experience of taking root in Xinjiang in recent years, and integrated Xinjiang dance and ballet. For this reason, the troupe invited young dancer Yu Miti to participate in the choreography and creation, integrating a variety of styles, forming a harmonious and colliding artistic style, and shaping the immortal spirit of Hu Yang for thousands of years. Liu Xuechen's "Ten Years in the Moon" was inspired by Su Shi's masterpiece "Jiangchengzi Yimao's Dream on the 20th Night of the First Month". The work is not limited to the mourning of "ten years of life and death", but uses the eyes of modern people to appreciate the time-honored emotion in Chinese poetry.
The inspiration from the collision of music and dance has become a creative source for young creators to express their life insights. The music of "Song of Destiny" composed by Zhang Qi adopts the famous excerpts from "Bran's Poetry", which depicts the ups and downs of life, the ups and downs of emotions, and people's longing for joy, praise for love, and enlightenment to life; Xu Yan and Wang Jiyu's "Gothenburg Variations" attempt to visualize music while giving dance a new imagination space and visual image, so that the extreme beauty in Bach's music and the purity of dance art can form a sense of beauty that coincides; Peng Jie's work "Journey" expresses the theme of "Life is like a journey", trying to find the relationship between people and things through creation, and conveying the deep meaning behind the work through behavior, state and emotion.
From the touching real life around you to the imaginative imagination of the future, the essence of novelty and creativity is the attention and care of young artists to the details around them. The special characters of Lu Chenqi's "Spiritual Dependence" are set up with a seriously ill father and a son with autism, so that the implicit and great, unrequited father's love has a dripping space on the stage. Su Yang and Wu Siming's work "Don't Forget Me" depicts the inner world of Alzheimer's patients who will not forget their love even if they are trapped in their own memories. Hu Helun's work "Mechanical Heartbeat" imagines a future virtual world, combining classical ballet with science fiction themes to make a bold and innovative attempt.
A special highlight was that Wu Zhenhong, the daughter of the first-generation ballet artist Wu Zujie and Mrs. Zhang Linyi, rehearsed the Chinese premiere of "Ballade" for the Chinese actors. This work was specially written for her by Wu Zhenhong's uncle, the famous Chinese choreographer and dancer Wu Zhushan in 1986. After Wu Zhushan's untimely death, this became his last work.
After the performance, this year's Workshop continued the tradition of setting up a post-show discussion session. The creators went from behind the scenes to the front of the stage and had face-to-face communication with the audience. Feng Ying, the head of Zhongba and the artistic director, said that many talented young creators have been constantly pioneering and innovating on the road of artistic creation, and have the courage to integrate their own insights into their works. "They use their youthful vitality and the drive to dare to try, to show their thinking from different angles on the stage, and I believe the audience will also have emotional resonance."
