From fairy tales to ballets, "Sleeping Beauty" has always exuded a fascinating charm. For a hundred years, the dance treasure "Sleeping Beauty" has been performed on stages all over the world for a long time, and the adaptations are not limited. At the 34th Macao Arts Festival, Marco Morao, winner of the Spanish National Dance Award, joined hands with the Lyon Opera Ballet to present the contemporary ballet "Sleeping Beauty", adding a bit of strange magic to lead the audience into the strange space of the Sleeping Princess.

On May 25, the 13th China Dance“Lotus Award”award ceremony, hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Publicity Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the China Dancers Association, and the Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles, was held at the Jiangsu Grand Theater in Nanjing. A total of 19 works won the 13th China Dance "Lotus Award" Dance Drama Award, National Folk Dance Award, Classical Dance Award, Contemporary Dance Award, and Modern Dance Award.

The Bordeaux National Opera Ballet will perform the romantic ballet masterpiece La Sylphide and the third act of Don Quixote adapted from Cervantes masterpiece at the National Centre for the Performing Arts from May 18 to 19, concluding the troupe China tour. On May 17, Manuel Ondre, director of the Bordeaux National Opera and general manager of the ballet, said in an interview at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, “We have specially arranged two sincere works for this tour, and we hope that the special performance arrangement will immerse the Beijing audience in the beauty of ballet.”

From May 24th to 26th, the world's top ballet dance artist Svetlana Zakharova and the artists of the Bolshoi Theater in Russia brought a special dance show MODANSE that integrates ballet, music and costume design art for three consecutive days at the Beijing Art Center. With two highly fashionable one-act dance plays "Like Breathing" and "The Legend of Chanel", it shows the blend of dance and fashion and the new meaning that fashion gives to dance.

On the evening of May 25, the curtain of the Beijing Art Center Opera House opened and closed three times, and the cheers were higher and higher. It was a passion that could not be extinguished by the rain all day. All the applause belonged to Svetlana Zakharova, the principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theater who came from afar. From May 31st to June 1st, the classical ballet "Sleeping Beauty" will be staged at the Guangzhou Grand Theater in a new production and rehearsal by Liu Bingxian, artistic director of the Korea Global Ballet Company, specially invited by the Guangzhou Ballet Theater. This production rehearsal is the second collaboration between the Guangzhou Ballet Theater and Liu Bingxian after the 2019 "Nutcracker". The ballet Sleeping Beauty is adapted from the French writer Perraul- Sleeping Beauty in the Woods. The music was composed by Tchaikovsky from 1888 to 1889. It praises friendship and loyal love. Although it is a mythological theme, the play is infused with human emotions, especially through beautiful music, which makes the compassionate Lilac Fairy appear extremely intimate and vivid. It is hailed as a treasure in the treasure house of ballet music.
